I’ve always wanted to go down to Philly and set up my camera and take shots of the cars at night. They leave those cool long trails when you use a longer shutter speed. We finally got our chance a few weeks ago on a photo walk. I set up my tripod and camera on Market Street, but the background was kind of dull.

All of a sudden, I see flashing lights reflecting off of the car windshields. As I turn around, I notice that a fire engine pulled up to one of the local businesses behind me. So I turn my whole rig around, and start shooting in that direction. As I was reviewing my shots and found that I got one I was happy with, all the firefighters get back on the truck and pull away. It was perfect timing.

My favorite shot is above.
