Jayda and Jamie

I am not above asking my neighbor with the beautifully manicured gardens if I can do a photo shoot in her yard with another neighbor of ours. Santa Fe is a little neighborhood in Burlington, NJ where both Lola and I live. My husband and son passed out flyers and met Lola in her yard. She was looking to surprise her husband with Father's Day portraits of his two girls and called me two days later. Lola was interested in outdoor photos possibly near flowers. Our neighbor on Cherokee Trail has a great yard with beautiful gardens and so I arranged to have the shoot there.

Her daughters were 2 and 15 and both of them very photogenic. Unfortunately, it was about 101 degrees out so I wanted to keep the shoot brief so we wouldn't all melt. We only had a week to take, edit, review and print the pictures before Father's Day. Thankfully we were able to accomplish it all before that Saturday, hopefully without her hsuband figuring out what his gift would be. I laugh because ro keep it a secret we met in a Dunkin Donuts, and even on the street in our neighborhood. I walked down to meet her with a manila envelope in my hand and gave it to her as she handed me a check. That was a first for both of us! Lola and her daughters are wonderful people and I am lucky to have them as neighbors.

Here's a picture of the two of them:
